Making Pasta, Building Teams

It is said that food brings people together, so what better team building exercise for Krescendo than to make our own 4 course Italian meal?

Earlier this month, we got in touch with TeamTactics to arrange a night of cooking instruction under the expert guidance of John Benbow at the Food@52 cooking school.  He arranged for teams to make:

Even the most able cooks picked up plenty of new skills in the kitchen.  We learned the how to make our own pasta from eggs and flour (without making a mess) and hand roll it and cut it into Tagliatelle.  We discovered the secrets of double-baking biscuits, and making tasty ice-cream.  Even something as simple as frying chicken with vegetables can have its own professional touch.

And then the best bit – we all ate it all together afterwards.

Even in the eating there is learning for development teams.  As any good cook will surely agree, you can’t tell if you’ve cooked something right until you tasted it yourself.  That’s something we are already familiar with in our day-jobs.  Using the software tools that you build yourself really helps refine and improve them.  Now we can perfect our software and our soffritto!
